Lace Trim Bolero

 |
The Lace Trim Bolero from Vogue Knitting Spring/Summer 2005
magazine, pg. 83, was my first raglan sleeved sweater. I really enjoyed the raglan sleeve and all the yarnover holes it uses. Yarn used was
Cascade Sierra, 80% pima cotton/20% wool blend. It was a little stiff to knit with,
but really softens up after washing. I didn't have any problems with the pattern, it's really interesting knitting up about 9 million yards of lace to
attach to the entire outside edge after the sweater is sewn together. I knit to gauge just fine, however, it's way too big through the bust yet fits just fine
through the shoulders. I plan to take it to a seamstress and see if she can take in the sides some. People tell me it looks fine when I've worn it, but I feel like
it bunches up and I'm always having to straighten the fronts. I'd like to add a tie or clasp someday, but knowing me I'll move on and never look back.
