The Best Baby Sweater pattern by Elizabeth Zimmermann came from a book I just bought, Vogue Knitting American Collection. This was my first top-down sweater. It was intriguing trying to figure out with each round just how this big circle was going to end up being one large tube with two small tubes for arms, but it did, and in a gull-wing stitch pattern, to boot! I used the backwards-loop cast-on underneath the armholes, wouldn't do that again, I think I need to learn the knitted cast-on for just such occasions. Yarn used was some navy Woolease that I found in my stash. This little sweater is on it's way to Colorado to my friend Allen and his wife Candace, who just welcomed a baby boy in September (I'm only a month behind...).
