Soleil
|
 |
Soleil was a tough one, I started it in Tahki Stacy Charles Cotton Classic and frogged it 3 times. I just couldn't get the lace to look right.
In the meantime, my husband had 3 coworkers expecting 5 babies between them, so I found a cute free pattern for
a Petal baby hat
and knitted them, after finally figuring out that my yarnovers were going the wrong direction. Only after I was finished did I realize it was the same lace pattern as Soleil. I then started Soleil and finished it!
It's a free pattern on knitty.com by Alexandra Virgiel.
It's a well-written pattern with an unusual process to divide the neck that really helps to keep the center stitches
from being noticeably stretched out. She has another pattern for sale on her website, artisokka, that is similar but has sleeves, maybe next year...
